Factors Affecting the Cost
Existing Heating System
If the Hive needs to be fitted directly onto a combi boiler it should be a relatively straightforward process.
However, if you have an old type of boiler system and it’s wired in a certain way, expect to pay roughly £30 extra in labour costs.
If there are problems with access to the boiler, then this can increase the labour time needed and therefore, costs.
If you tell your contractor the make or model, they should be able to quote more accurately. You can also send photos.
Location
Labour costs in London and the south of England are generally more expensive than elsewhere.
If the contractor needs to travel beyond a certain radius, then they may add an extra fee on top. A good proportion of plumbers don’t install Hive thermometers. Depending on where you live, you may need to get a quote from a contractor further afield.
